EPA releases ANPR on greenhouse gas regulation
- On July 11th, the EPA released an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding regulating greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act, inviting months of further comment on possible regulations as response to the Supreme Court ruling on the matter from April 2007.
G8 releases statement on climate change - On July 8th, the G8 leaders released a statement on climate change, calling for a halving of global emissions by 2050 (with no set baseline for the reduction).
Gore calls for clean energy revolution - On July 17th, former Vice President Al Gore delivered a speech in Washington DC, calling for the US to shift to 100% renewable energy for its power sector in 10 years.
